Volunteer Opportunities:

This will not be an easy task. While we are very confident the people of Tacoma will support the Reforest Tacoma Initiative, we must collect around 6,000 signatures during April, May, and June to put it on the ballot. We are not a large group with unlimited resources. We are a small grassroots team that will need considerable help to succeed.

We know you care about our City, and we know you can make a difference, either by devoting some of your time or asking others you know to volunteer. We need volunteers for the following tasks:

Team Captain: responsible for finding 2-5 people you can depend on for canvassing along with you at events here in town, such as farmers markets, baseball games, festivals, and so forth. You would be expected to cover 3 events during April, May, and June.

Team Player: serve as a member on one of these teams, attending three events to solicit signatures from voters.

Reforester: seek signatures on your own from friends, neighbors, workplace mates, church goers, family, and anyone else you can approach, with a goal of obtaining 40 signatures or more during April, May and June.

Champion: as a member of a local organization, devoted to improving our lives in Tacoma, organize a campaign to collect signatures from your member associates.

Donator: unable to donate time, you’re willing to pay one of our bills, which may range from $50-$1,000.

Administrator: manage a portion of our plans to support team players, reforesters, and champions, such as managing the calendar of those attending events, managing the distribution of clipboards, pens, and other support materials, or other similar tasks that need attention.

Primary Team Member: join our grassroots group, as a devoted and determined resident of Tacoma who believes we can reforest the city. We especially need people to help with our website, to help create support materials, to interact with and support those who are seeking signatures.
